The Position:
We are looking for a Lawn & Grounds Care Foreman to lead our Grounds Care Crew in maintaining the resort’s lawns, gardens, and common areas. This role is ideal for someone with landscaping experience and leadership skills who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in creating beautifully maintained spaces.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supervision & Team Leadership: Oversee and coordinate daily tasks for the Lawn & Grounds Care Crew, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently. Train and mentor crew members, monitor performance, and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Grounds & Landscape Maintenance: Maintain resort lawns, landscaped areas, and flower beds, including mowing, trimming, pruning, and fertilization. Identify and address pest, weed, and disease issues.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee the use and maintenance of landscaping equipment, ensuring proper operation and timely repairs. Train crew members on the safe use of equipment.
  • Irrigation & Water Management: Monitor and maintain irrigation systems, adjusting schedules as needed to promote healthy lawns and plants. Troubleshoot and repair irrigation system issues.
  • Property Cleanliness & Aesthetic Management: Ensure walkways, common areas, and outdoor spaces are clean, well-maintained, and visually appealing. Manage seasonal landscape cleanups, including leaf removal.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure proper handling of fertilizers and pesticides in accordance with environmental regulations. Address and report any safety concerns.
  • Administrative & Reporting Duties: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment usage, and crew performance. Report updates to the Outdoor Services Superintendent.
  • Guest Engagement: Interact with guests as needed, addressing landscaping-related inquiries and ensuring guest areas are welcoming and well-maintained.

What You Need to Be Successful:

  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of landscaping, lawn care, irrigation systems, and pest control.
  • Ability to operate and train others on grounds care equipment safely and effectively.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License preferred.
  • WHMIS and First Aid/CPR certification are assets.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Availability:

  • Full-time seasonal position from April to mid-October.
  • Must be available for early morning, daytime, and occasional evening or weekend shifts.

Compensation:

  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
